The WPT World Championship is set to take place in December at Wynn and will be one of the top poker tournaments to finish out 2023. Just like 2022, the Premiere Meet-Up Game (MUG) will open proceedings.
Premiere Meet-Up Game Will See Phil Ivey, Todd Brunson
WPT CEO Adam Pliska said that based on the success of MUG in 2022, they decided to bring it back in 2023. MUG is where players will get to interact with WPT ambassadors and other top poker players. In 2022, players were able to run into the legendary Doyle Brunson who passed away in May 2023.
During the 2023 MUG, players will be able to interact with his son Todd Brunson as well as Poker Hall of Famer (PHoF) Phil Ivey. Some of the other big names that will be a part of MUG are Vince Van Patten and Matt Savage.
The 2023 MUG will be hosted by Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen who are looking to create a fun and interactive environment that is not intimidating to any players. Owen has encouraged poker players who missed the inaugural MUG in 2022 to make an appearance this year.
