The World Poker Tour (WPT) will create history this year when it hosts the biggest-guaranteed poker tournament of all time, the $10,400 buy-in, $40M GTD WPT World Championship. The WPT also wants to fulfill its long-standing commitment to attracting more women into the game.
The 2023 WPT World Championship series at Wynn Las Vegas features multiple events exclusive to women, putting them center stage at the historic festival. Additionally, female players will be given more live-stream exposure, as some of the events will be covered by WPT’s live-stream channels.
Ladies-Only Events at WPT World Championship
The WPT World Championship runs from November 29 to December 23, with a number of ladies-only events spread throughout the schedule, starting with the WPT Ladies Championship. This $1,100 buy-in tournament, which is scheduled for December 6-8, will feature a live-streamed final table. The tournament debuted in 2022, with Lina Niu claiming the title after topping a 578-entry field.
There will also be a Ladies Mimosa Meet-Up Game (MUG) which gets underway on December 8 before the start of the Ladies Championship final action. The event will be hosted by poker pro and commentator Jamie Kerstetter. The WPT will also live-stream a Ladies Cash Game on December 14, from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m. PT.
