The UFC is set to host a UFC Fight Night card on Oct 1 at its UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This card will be headlined by a 5 round strawweight fight between Brazilian McKenzie Dern and Chinese star Yan Xiaonan.
UFC Bans Press and Fans From Attending
The UFC made a surprising decision this week when it announced that the UFC Apex Center would be closed to fans and the media during this Fight Night card. The UFC has always allowed the media into the UFC Apex Center even when COVID-19 was at its peak.
When the media pressed UFC President Dana White for a reason, White did not give out a straightforward answer but simply said he wanted to give the media a break and let them catch up on some downtime.
Mark Zuckerberg Books Private Audience
McKenzie Dern was asked during one of her interviews this week, if she felt a little let down that the media was not going to be present to cover her Main Event fight. Dern then made a slip up and said that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has booked out the arena for a private viewing. Dern said she wasn’t sure if it was only going to be Zuckerberg and his wife or Zuckerberg was bringing along his friends and family.
