Luke “SlayAbides” Vrabel, a poker pro who often ignites controversy on Twitter for his offensive posts and comments, especially on women, has been banned from the social media platform.
Poker journalist Jennifer Newell reported Vrabel’s account for abusive behavior and that triggered the ban, with Twitter finding that the poker player broke the rules.
Vrabel Calls Cancer Patient a Scammer
It wasn’t the first time that Vrabel’s account was flagged for a similar violation. In its response to Newell’s report, Twitter stated that it received multiple reports about Vrabel’s abusive behavior, and the GoFundMe Cancer argument, initially sparked by Todd Witteles, seemed to be the final straw.
Witteles urged the poker community to check whether Jami Lafay’s cancer story was legit. Vrabel got into the conversation and attacked Lafay whom he called a scammer. Lafay set up the GoFundMe campaign to raise $50,000 for her treatment.
Even those claiming to be Vrabel’s friends weren’t spared from his hostility. He would call them “assholes” and “bullshits” whenever they would call him out for his actions.
Not the First Time
Vrabel is no stranger to being punished for his behavior. He was banned for five years from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) after engaging in multiple arguments with fans and WSOP staff during the Colossus event in 2017.
