Jeju Shinhwa World, a casino resort on Jeju Island in South Korea, is targeting Southeast Asian markets post-pandemic. The company said their marketing efforts are now focused on attracting customers from the region as many people there are already familiar with South Korean culture and are also more inclined to travel overseas.
Jeju Will Focus On Southeast Asian Tourists
Jenny Lim, the integrated resort’s chief marketing officer (CMO), revealed that they are aiming to bring tourists from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore to the property. Ms. Lim said their offices in those locations have been busy running promotions, and they are capitalizing on the quality customer service, fair prices, and magnificent location of Jeju Shinhwa to convince people to visit the resort.
Improvements in air services to and from Southeast Asian countries will also play a key role in getting people to travel to Jeju, according to Lim. For instance, Singapore has already been offering non-stop flights to the South Korean island. Additionally, Singapore also serves as a gateway to other Southeast Asian destinations, including Indonesia and Malaysia.
Jeju Shinhwa to Work with Japanese IR
Lim also unveiled plans to work with Japan’s first integrated resort once it opens, saying they may develop destination package programs for both properties. Jeju Shinhwa World runs a casino that is exclusive to foreigners. The property is owned by Hong Kong-listed firm Shin Hwa World Co Ltd.
