Saudi Arabia has made big strides in recent years to turn itself into a major international sporting hub. Recent reports suggest that Saudi Arabia is now in talks to host the biggest mega super heavyweight fight card in boxing before the end of the year.
Fury vs. Usyk Could Take Place In Saudi
Oleksandr Usyk who is the current WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight champ was expected to fight Tyson Fury who is the current WBC heavyweight champion in the UK during the first half of 2023. That fight is yet to get signed and now it appears that it is likely that this fight will take place in Saudi Arabia.
Eddie Hearn who managers Brit Anthony Joshua confirmed this week that it is likely that Joshua could end up fighting Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia before the end of the year. Hearn said that there were discussions taking place with Saudi Arabia for a mega heavyweight fight card featuring all four heavyweights with a potential £300 million being offered by Saudi Arabia.
It has been difficult to get super fights in boxing much to the disappointment of the fans but this time around, fans are more confident because Saudi Arabia does have money to get everyone on the same page!
