Online poker players in North America will have their own version of PokerStars’ popular tournament series Championship of Online Poker (COOP) starting this year.
The operator has announced the first-ever North America Championship of Online Poker (NACOOP) which kicks off on September 15 and is open to players from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ontario.
NACOOP Key Details
Running from September 15 to October 2, NACOOP features more than 260 events in total, with a combined guarantee of over $7 million. NACOOP will now be used as the single branding for the COOP series running across PokerStars’ three networks in the continent – the merged NJ/MI network (USCOOP, $3M GTD), the ring-fenced PA client (PACOOP, $2.5M GTD), and the Ontario platform (ONCOOP, $1.5M GTD).
Players in each of the three markets will compete in 89 unique events, with buy-ins ranging from $10 to $2,500+. The schedule will include an array of variants and formats, such as Razz, 2-7 Triple Draw, Mixed Games, Omaha, Seven, Card Stud, and many others.
Main Highlights
There will be a $300 buy-in Main Event in all three pools, with guarantees on offer in NJ/MI ($350,000) and PA ($250,000). On top of the first-place prize, the winner also takes home a 24-karat Gold NACOOP Main Event champion’s trophy.
There’s a $2,500 High Roller Championship as well, with a guarantee of $150,000 in both NJ/MI and PA.
