The One Step Closer Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting people with Cerebral Palsy (CP), has teamed up with PokerGO and ARIA for a charity event on March 4. The PokerGO Studio at ARIA Las Vegas will play host to the event which will be participated in by numerous celebrities.
Celebrities Go All In for CP
The “All In for CP Charity Event” has a buy-in of $1,000. Half of the buy-in will go to the charity while the other half will go to the prize pool. Players have the option to rebuy and add on for $500.
Among those confirming their attendance are Hollywood actors Kevin Pollak, Ted Danson, and Cheryl Hines. They will be joined by the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event winner Joe Cada and retired American mixed martial artist Roy “Big Country” Nelson.
$1.5M Raised from Poker Charity Events
The One Step Closer Foundation has so far raised an estimated $1.5 million from poker charity events since its inception in 2007. Jacob Zalewski, a CP patient himself, founded the charity alongside the late Sam Simon. The last time the foundation organized a poker charity event was before the pandemic in 2019.
