Ali Imsirovic appears to be struggling to change his old ways, with sources saying he is continuing to cheat despite being banned from GGPoker and PokerGO Tour events. This prompted Daniel Negreanu, one of poker’s most popular and influential figures, to call on all poker operators to ban the alleged cheater.
Negreanu Calls for Total Poker Ban Against Imsirovic
In a recent tweet, Negreanu said Imsirovic is “likely irredeemable at this point” and should not be allowed to play in any poker game or event both live and online.
Negreanu’s call follows reports that the Bosnian-American poker pro has now shifted to unregulated sites, including Americas Cardroom, to cheat on other players via multi-accounting and using real-time assistance (RTA).
Bad Reputation
Imsirovic is considered one of the world’s best high-stakes poker players, and his Hendon Mob profile has the stats to back this up. At 28, he has more than $18 million in live tournament cashes, with multiple titles under his belt. But with cheating allegations now haunting his career, the poker community is now questioning whether he deserved all of those achievements.
It isn’t just Negreanu who wants Imsirovic to learn his lessons the hard way. Alex Foxen was the first high-profile to expose Imsirovic, followed by Chance Kornuth. The cheating allegations against him also sparked conversation on the strength of cheating detection protocols implemented by online poker sites.
