The NHL had Adidas as its official uniform partner for the last 7 years and was open to discussions of renewing its partnership with Adidas. However, Adidas decided not to pursue to renew its contract with the NHL as Adidas has decided to exit the uniform sports business.
Fanatics New Uniform Partner Of The NHL
The NHL decided that it was in its best interests to sign Fanatics as its new official uniform partner. Fanatics has signed a 10 year contract with the NHL but the terms and conditions of the contract are yet to be disclosed.
Fanatics will replace Adidas as the official uniform partner of the NHL from the 2024-2025 season and will continue to use the same manufacturing plant that Adidas used in Quebec, Canada to manufacture on-ice jerseys for the NHL and for on-ice NHL officials.
Fanatics is one of the leading companies in the sports business and has had a partnership with the NHL for close to 20 years, manufacturing a range of NHL apparel and also official NHL replica jerseys. Fanatics will look to bring in changes to uniform fabrics and implement player safety innovations to help reduce ice lacerations.
