The former two time WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Joshua is set to fight American Jermaine Franklin on April 01 at the O2 Arena.
This will be the first time in a long time that Joshua is not in a championship fight as the 33 year old Brit is coming off two consecutive losses to current WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua Says Will Retire As Heavyweight Champ
There are many boxing fans who think AJ’s time has come and gone as he no longer carries the aura of invincibility that he once had. His fight against Franklin is going to be huge as he will either end up silencing his critics by beating Franklin or will prove them right if he ends up losing.
Joshua says his goal right now is to get past Franklin and then make one final run to regain his belts. Anthony Joshua has hinted at retirement by saying that his goal is to regain his belts within the next 16 months and then walk away from boxing as the heavyweight champ!
